"Bartlett Annable, son of Barnabas, went to Texas in 1838. About 1848 he started for the City of Mexico with a drove of cattle. It is supposed that he was murdered by the Mexicans, as he has never been heard from since."2

I have had no letter from him since last winter. He was much pleased with the country, had obtained 2,750 acres of land, was unmarried. This is about all the information I could get from him."
