[S721] Douglas Richardson, "English Ancestry of William Chandle", transcription and note from the text: "In the name of god Amen the iiijth day of Marche in the yere of our lorde god [1555] I John page theleder of pokerigge etc. make this my testament[.] First I bequeathe my soill to gode etc. And my body to be buryed etc. Item I geve and bequeathe to Jenken page sonne of John page my sonne vj s dijjd of lawfull mony and to Thomas Danyell Joane Danyell Marye Danyell & Elizabeth Danyell childerne of my sonne in lawe Will[ia]m Danyell and to Thobye Chaundeler Raphaell Chaundeler and Barbara Chaundeler childerne of my sonne in lawe Thomas Chaundeler to evry of them vj s. viij d. of Lawfulll mony to them and evry of them to be paid when they shall come to thage of xxj yeres Or ells the daye of their marredge of [sic] they marry before the said age and if any of my said childers childerne shall happen to decease before the same age and before they shalbe maryede I will that this or their p[ar]te so deseasing shalbe evenly devided among them that shall then be living to then to be paid as is aforesaide[.] I geve towarde the mending of the Highe Waye betwene the ende of Pokeredge and the topp of the hill towarde Brawghing xl s to be bestowed and paide owte of the mony w[hic]h my sonne Thomas Chaundeler owith me when the same shalbe due[.] Also I give & bequeathe to katheryne my wif all thoes my lands w[hic]h I purchased of John fizherbert gent. and all my reversion of in and to the same To have and to holde al the said lands unto my said wif[e] from and after the decease of Dyonyce fizherbert widowe duringe the naturall lif[e] of the said katheryne my wif And after the decease of my said wif[e] I will all the same Landes shall remayne to my sonne John Page and his assignes for terme of the lif[e] of the said John and after his decease I will the same Landes shall remayne to my Nephewe Jenkyn page and to his heires for ev[er.] Also I geve and bequeathe to the said katheryne my wief all my other free lands wher so ev[er] the be w[hi]ch I have in fee symple To have and to holde to her and her heires for ev[er.] The Residue of all my goodes before not bequethed I geve and bequethe to the said katheryne my wif[e] w[hi]ch Katheryne I make Executrice of this my testament and Last will.
