Agnes Walsh was also known as Fogarty.3
In 1946, Agnes Fogarty declared that Henry Fogarty was her brother, b. at Shediac Road, Westmorland Co. NB, on 12 Dec 1889, and that he was the son of deceased parents John Francis Fogarty, farmer of Shediac Road, and Bridget Walsh. At that time, Agnes and Henry were co-domiciled in St. John NB.
Agnes, as Agnes Welch (though prob. Walsh), is recorded in the 1881 census in the household of Francis and Bridget.
In 1891, she and John are in the household of John Fogarty as Agnes Fogarty (age 17) and Henry Fogarty (age 3), recorded as "Domestics." Bridget is also recorded as John's mother, age 74.
Then, in 1901, and again in the household of John Fogarty, Agnes is age 22 and reported as "cousin" while Henry is age 12 and reported as "nephew." Also in the household is Julia (also known as Johanna) Walsh, Bridget's sister and John's aunt, age 60.
Francis died in 1893 and Bridget in 1900. Recognizing Agnes's declaration, this genealogy will record Agnes and Henry as adopted children of Francis and Bridget until further records are found.2
