In the 1821 census of her son James Jr., with his brother Robert and sister Ellen (Ellen), Jeremiah and Daniel Hannigan are recorded as uncles. This might mean that they are brothers of Ellen Hannigan, the mother of James Jr., Robert and Ellen, Ellen Hannigan. Also, James Hannigan, son of James and of Ellen White, was a wtiness at Ellen's marr. to James Walsh.
The parents of Ellen Hannigan have not been identified, but this would mean that she is the dau. of James Hannigan and Ellen White (though the family name White is uncertain, with only one source).
But, as a wid. in 1881, her neighbors are John Hannigan and Andrew Hannigan, sons of James Hannigan and Susannah Crossman.3
