  4. [S520] VWH, Relationship is speculative. Sarah A Stone, wife of Thomas Henry Blount, was apparently in the household of John G and Mary A Wingo in the 1850 and 1860 censuses, as Sarah A Stone, approximately 18 years younger than Mary A Wingo. Sarah would probably be either the younger sister or the daughter of Sarah, from a previous marriage. The clue lies in the death certificate of Sarah's son Wingo G Blount, also called John G Blount (1880 census). His is the only death certificate of Sarah's children (of four viewed) that uses this name - the others name the mother as either Sarah or Sallie Stone. Wingo (or John G) was certainly named after the husband of Mary, and would indicate that their was more than an in-law relationship. This genealogy will therefore show Sarah A Stone as the daughter of Mary by an earlier marriage.
Mary married John G Wingo in 1849. If Mary's first married name was Stone, this is a marriage record that should be sought. In fact, there is a marriage of Mary Powell to Samuel P Stone in Washington Co. in 1838, or one to two years before Sarah's birth. This Samuel P Stone died in 1845, age 32, and is buried in Walton Twp., Washington Co.
