" Maria Holton was the dau. of Robert Holton of "Mulberry Fields," Park Hall, St. Mary's County, Maryland, and Mary Wiseman, dau. of Henry Wiseman, who was one of the Councillors of Governor Leonard Calvert, son of the first Lord Baltimore and settled in St. Mary's County, Maryland, in 1634. Henry Wiseman came of an old Essex County family and was the son of Sir Thomas Wiseman, Knight, of Rivenhall, and was one of that party of gentlemen adventurers, who arrived in Maryland on the ships The Ark and The Dove, to found the colony under the land grants of the Crown to George Calvert, first Lord Baltimore."
