From Le Clergé Canadien-Français: "né à Montréal, le 6 avril 1842, de Joseph Collerette-Bourguignon et de Louise Verdon, fit ses études à Saint-Laurent près Montréal et à Memramcook dans le Nouveau-Brunswick, et fut ordonné à Montréal par Mgr Clut, le 1 mai 1870. Préfet au collège de Saint-Laurent (1870-1871) ; supérieur du collège de Saint-Césaire (1871-18 77) ; vicaire à Grande-Digue dans le Nouveau-Brunswick (1877-1880) ; curé de Quaco (1880-1897), du Cap-Pelé (1897-1917). Prêtre d'une grande piété, il aimait particulièrement le Dieu de l'Eucharistie ; chaque jour il passait des heures en sa présence, on l'y a souvent vu pleurer. De plus affectionnant son habit ecclésiastique, il n'était pas de ces empressés à enlever la soutane en dehors de la province de Québec. Il est décédé en son presbytère du Cap-Pelé, le 11) mai 1917."2
