Obituary11 April 1890Obituary for Judge Henry T Mudd was published Citing the Troy Herald, 11 Apr 1890 (Montgomery Co. MO newspaper records, Deaths 180-1899, Alma J Enloe Wheeler): "Lincoln co, Mo - Mar. 31, 1890, Judge Henry Thomas Mudd of Millwood. Born in Charles co, MD, Sep. 23, 1816. At age of 17 he went to Wash. D.C. where he was clerk and collector for the mercantile house of Semmes & Shepherd, the former the father of Capt. Raphael Semmes of the Confederate Navy. In 1837 he married Miss Elizabeth E. Dyer, and to them were born 10 children, only 2 still living, J.E. Mudd and Mrs. Wilford Lee. In 1839 he moved to St. Charles co, and the following year to Millwood. In 1841 he was elected assessor and served 4y. From 1847 to 1849 he was sheriff. He has had a store in Millwood since 1853. His first wife died in June, 1855. In June 1856 he married Miss Mary O'Brien. They had 8 children, 5 sons still living. He was county judge from 1875 to 1881. A leading Catholic, one of the founders of the church at Millwood." on 11 April 1890.3
