"In 1650 she was engaged to be married to Pieter Kock, her father's former partner in the sloop" but the engagement was broken off by Annetje; a suit followed over her breaking of the promise of marriage and the presents that Pieter had given to Annetje during his courtship. The Burgomasters decided, on 18 May 1654, that " neither the plaintiff nor the defendant, without the knowledge and approbation of their Lordships, the Magistrates, and the other one of the registered parties shall be permitted to enter matrimony with any other person." Nonetheless, Annetje finally married Claes Janszen in 1656.
